Every teacher’s aim is to teach and be understood by his pupils and be able to answer questions on the topic when the need arises. The play way method therefore, is absolutely essential of the nursery age to make learning situation as a natural aspect of the cultural setting pupils are born into. It could be likened to as a frontline troop in the battle for even development of a child especially within the ages of six.
Research shows that playful method of lesson delivery makes nursery education a contribution of homely feeling and learning experience a natural induction (National Policies on Education, 2004). That, through play the rudiments of numbers letters, colours, shapes, forms could be taught observably.
Also, under such playful atmosphere, teachers are worth relying upon and the lessons taught are doubters worthy of attention and co-operation.
Furthermore, educational oriented play provides a safe and supportive environment for pupils to explore their strength; develop new skills, improve physical well-being, develop the pupil’s self esteem and to build friends.
Today, both the government and privates school owners are making concerted efforts and huge investment to promote the growth and participation among pupils though increased funding, provision of adequate and relevant play materials, creation of recreational parks, incorporation of play in their course of learning, involvement in games/competition and provision of good and spacious play ground.
In respect to the higher level of participation as well as greater interest from both government and private industries, it is the responsibility of this research work to find out the effectiveness of the play way method in nursery education as perceived by teachers in Okpe Local Government Area, Delta State.
Excessive play could push a child into habit of unseriousness and sometimes makes teaching a tedious job as some pupils are different to guide.
Some schools are lacking in terms of creating adequate and enabling environment or play materials for children to use.
Also, the play way method is perceived as a waste of time and resources, with nothing to contribute to the character development of the pupils.

Poor response: The unwillingness of some teachers to disclose the much needed information.
